Email Marketing Specialist


Inside Higher Ed, the leading source for news, opinion and information for the higher education community, is seeking an entry-level, detail-oriented Email Marketing Specialist. This position supports the marketing, editorial, and sales teams in building impactful email campaigns to promote our products and services and drive audience growth.


  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to create, test, deploy and report on email marketing campaigns.

  • Assist in maintaining or improving the email production workflow, including the company's outreach calendar.

  • Assist with writing and copyediting multiple types of emails.

  • Monitor, track and maintain reports on email campaign performance.

  • Support operations as needed including maintaining updated and accurate email database information.

  • Respond in a timely and professional manner to emailed inquiries.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communication, English or a related field.

  • 1-2 years relevant work experience, including experience with copywriting, email creation, list building, and/or sending.

  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple deadlines.

  • Excellent written communication skills, including copywriting and editing.

  • Knowledge of basic HTML and CSS (will teach the right candidate).

  • Interest in higher education and/or journalism preferred
